An afternoon in the flower fields :: Joel & Samantha's Engagement Shoot

They had been friends throughout high school....and then came the high school prom. But he went with his date. She went with hers. Something about that night- somehow the stars were alligned perfectly.....and they felt that special something that sparked what would become the start of the rest of their lives.....

A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of meeting Joel & Samantha! As with most couples, they were a little nervous to have a big camera lens in their faces. But after a few shots they looked like they grew up in front of the camera.

Samantha wanted an outdoorsy feel to their engagement shoot, and Clay and I found a perfect spot in East Orange County called Carbon Canyon. The lighting was perfect, and the more we explored the more we got to know Joel & Samantha, who they are, and got to hear bits and pieces of their story. We can't wait for their wedding later this year!
